IRISES ELIGIBLE FOR AIS SHOW AWARDS
In late 2017, the AIS board of directors passed
a motion to allow irises to be entered in approved
iris shows, and thus be eligible for show awards,
once they are registered with the AIS registrar.
Introduction at the time of show entry is no longer
a requirement.
The motion reads: “That introduction be removed
as a requirement for show ribbons and awards for
irises with verifiable names.”
Verifiable names refer to being able to confirm
that the iris has been registered.
From the exhibition committee, the suggested
rule in your show schedule might read:
Entries must be AIS registered, and all varieties
entered must have verifiable names recorded on
the entry tag.
